Ethos Data Analysis Aids Refrigeration Plant Efficiency
Star Refrigeration's SDA technology extracts data from refrigeration plants, stores it in the cloud, and displays it on a web-based dashboard to meet specific customer needs.
The service monitors data such as cold store temperatures, power meter readings, and heat pump parameters. The Ethos system analyses plant performance before and after events like refrigerant conversions or maintenance contractor changes. By measuring pertinent parameters, Ethos provides data for comparison, aiding future alterations and confirming the success of prior adjustments.
A case study showed that Star Refrigeration’s Ethos service and StarCare maintenance team helped Tesco achieve an average 10% energy saving across eight distribution centres between January 2022 and September 2023, with a return on investment in under 3 months. Star Data Analytics also assisted BrewDog in assessing the health and spare capacity of their refrigeration system for scope expansion plans. Additionally, Asda has driven down energy consumption by 35% since 2010 with the help of Star Refrigeration and City Facilities Management.
