The Bellshill branch of Star Refrigeration reports significant growth in new installations over the past five years. Established in 1999, the Bellshill branch undertakes refrigeration and HVAC installation, service and maintenance work.

A notable aspect of the branch's performance is its ongoing plant aftercare programmes across 50 customer sites. Customer retention levels are reportedly high, with Star servicing 90% of existing customers for over 10 years. The branch supports customers across varied industry sectors, including food and drinks manufacturing, temperature-controlled storage and distribution, data centres, leisure, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical and district heating.

The branch team consists of 20 technical field engineers, plus specialist managers, supervisors, and office support staff. Star Refrigeration’s network of nine branches across the UK aims to deliver services at the right locations and times. The branches operate somewhat independently, employing over 200 people, and are supported by the wider business.

The highly skilled team provides 24/7 rapid support, aiming to respond to on-site problems within two hours of notification. Services include plant upgrades and refurbishment, and refrigeration maintenance including vibration monitoring, ammonia analysis, and thermal imaging.

Whether this growth translates to a proportional increase in market share remains to be seen. Maintaining high customer retention is undoubtedly a sound strategy, but new innovations will be key in an evolving sector.
