Trane Opens Sustainable Refrigeration Centre in Bengaluru

Trane Technologies has partnered with the Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT) in Bengaluru to establish a new Centre for Sustainable Refrigeration and Climate Control, providing hands-on learning for engineering students. The centre, structured as a learning laboratory, features advanced systems and technologies from Trane Technologies for demonstrations and student-led sessions, as reports suggest.

Trane Technologies and CIT are collaborating on a credit-based curriculum that combines academic foundations with industry-relevant skills.

“This centre provides students with real-world exposure to advanced HVAC technologies, application-focused learning, faculty development, knowledge exchanges and reinforces CIT’s status as an innovation-driven institution,” said Wilson Lawrence, Trane Technologies’ vice-president and general manager, India Engineering and Technology centres.
Nithin Mohan, Cambridge Institute of Technology CEO, added: “This partnership with Trane Technologies marks a major step in advancing sustainable engineering education at CIT. The new centre will equip our students with real-world skills and industry exposure, helping shape tomorrow’s leaders in climate technology.”

Future plans include structured learning modules and expanded lab-based training, solidifying the collaboration's commitment to advancing sustainable engineering education.
