ACES Centre Kigali Gains F-Gas Register Accreditation
The Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cooling and Cold Chain Systems (ACES) in Kigali has been accredited by The F-Gas Register.
The F-Gas Register has announced its registration of ACES as a UK-recognised entity. This confirms that ACES' engineers possess UK-approved F-Gas qualifications and will adhere to the same regulatory standards as other register members, in line with DEFRA requirements.
Graeme Fox, director of schemes at The F-Gas Register, said, "As the only F-gas certifying body with in-house expertise in the regulations and the specific RACHP sector we are perfectly positioned to assist the ACES in securing recognition of the work they are doing in Kigali and beyond. I appreciate the huge effort that has gone into developing this training centre in Rwanda. We wish the centre the very best for their future delivering up-skilling and certification for technicians and engineers in the RACHP sector in Kigali and other centres across the developing world."
ACES Technical Director, Basile Seburikoko, said that receiving the Company F-Gas Certificate enhances their ability to work with industry and government stakeholders. This certification enables ACES to provide services to companies and institutions in Rwanda at an international level, while supporting the country’s transition to climate-friendly cooling technologies.
Supported financially by Defra and the Rwanda Government, in partnership with UNEP and UK academics led by the University of Birmingham, ACES aims to establish sustainable, resilient, and equitable cooling and cold-chain systems. Receiving the Company F-Gas Certificate is a significant step forward for ACES.
